Founded in 1946, Freedom from Hunger is a nonprofit, international development organization that brings innovative and sustainable solutions to the fight against chronic hunger and poverty.

Freedom from Hunger trains local organizations to implement high-quality services that meet the needs of the rural poor. Freedom from Hunger’s involvement with local organizations is quite intensive at first as they train staff and provide technical assistance. Later, these partnerships become a rich exchange of ideas and innovation for improvements.

This strategy  enables Freedom from Hunger to achieve extraordinary leverage. With a  full-time staff of fewer than 40 people, FFH is able to directly benefit hundreds of thousands of women and their families.

Freedom From Hunger had no infrastructure to enable on-line communication with partners or amongst staff.  ifPeople built Freedom from Hunger a multi-level site to manage internal communication, resources distribution and external communication with their partners around the globe. The site is tri-lingual, automates the workflow of internal document production processes, and also provides easy management of secure access for different groups.  ifPeople is also working directly with staff to plan a strategy for an integrated technology roll-out which will serve FFH's new program Reach.

Reach further develops FFH's highly successful partnership model to a franchise that will enable FFH to “reach” 3 million woman. An eight fold increase in impact with only a projected 30% increase in staff.  ifPeople's strategy includes RSS feeds, white label Web sites that can be quickly deployed in new regions, integrated CMS and CRM, and plans for wireless technology integration.  The site, and its collection of resources, can be found at www.ffhtechnical.org
