Greetings for all! This has been an intense time of fall harvesting and we hope you have had rich experiences. ifPeople was recently involved in two events in Atlanta, including the 10,000+ person GreenBuild conference (see our coverage below) and the Bioneers Southeast Forum. In this issue, we bring you news of events, including a look to 2006, and an announcement of our latest Carbon Neutrality projects, a new strategic consulting project, and our latest training in Argentina as part of our FairSource program. _____ifPeople Works with Cooperative Coffees on Strategic Planning
Cooperative Coffees (CC) is a green bean buying collective comprised of fair trade roaster/members. CC buys beans directly from cooperatives around the world. They build lasting relationships with the grower cooperatives in order to create more equitable trade mechanisms and contribute to sustainability. As part of its growth process, CC has undertaken strategic planning with its leadership and members. ifPeople has been  engaged to facilitate the process of  articulating and designing the strategic plan.

_____Green Building convergence in Atlanta gives new impetus to sustainable building
The USGBC's GreenBuild 2005 Expo and Conference was held in Atlanta, November 9-11. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC), a coalition of more than 5,500 private companies, NGOs and government agencies promoting energy efficient and environmentally responsible building. The 2005 conference brought together 600 exhibitors and almost 12,000  people, ranging from architects and contractors to experts and specialized consultants involved in green building  initiatives. ifPeople cofounders served on the Host Committee for the event, which catalyzed collaboration in and around Atlanta.

_____ifPeople launches annual Carbon Neutral program to reduce the environmental impact of its activities From its inception, ifPeople has taken action to enhance the ecological impacts of company operations. In 2004, specific programs to capture carbon dioxide were implemented which involved forestry activities with native species and the overall improvement of its energy consumption. In 2005, ifPeople committed to contribute to the preservation of undeveloped lands and extend awareness programs to reach both partners and clients as part of its Carbon Neutral program.

_____ifPeople sponsors Plone and Zope training in Argentina as part of FairSource program
December 2-3, eighteen people engaged in an advanced training in Zope and Plone sponsored by ifPeople in Argentina. Zope and Plone, enterprise-quality web software  applications, have emerging communities in the Southern Cone. This was ifPeople's second training this year  as part of the FairSource program to strengthen responsible microenterprises in Latin America that provide quality, valuable information technology services.
