World Plone Day 2008
On November 7, ifPeople will join Plone enthusiasts around the globe in celebrating World Plone Day 2008. The main purpose of Wold Plone Day is to increase awareness of Plone in university settings, governments, business communities, and among nonprofits and NGOs. Members of the Plone community in twenty seven countries, on six continents, will be giving presentations and hosting events to introduce Plone and promote its use. If you follow what we do at ifPeople, you know we talk about Plone a lot.
As most of our readers know, Plone is a leading open source content management system (CMS). Content management systems allow even non-technical users to create, manage, edit, and publish web content in a manner that is organized, consistent, and in keeping with web standards.
The benefit of a CMS is that it allows organizations to easily maintain up-to-date web sites with fresh and dynamic content, keeping visitors informed and engaged.
An open source CMS is particularly attractive because it does not require a license fee and developers are free to access and customize the code behind it to meet an organization's needs.
Plone is ifPeople's open source CMS of choice because it provides a mature and powerful platform for sophisticated and complex world-class web sites. Plone has gained international notoriety for its reliability, ease of use for non-technical users, and its extensive functionality. Celebrate with us and learn more about World Plone Day 2008 here.
