ifPeople Announces Agilito, a New Open Source Project Management Tool
If you are familiar with the Agile/Scrum software development process, you know that the available project management tools tend to be bulky and expensive. To address this concern both internally and in the broader community, ifPeople recently led the development of a new open source project management software, Agilito.
Agilito aims to do just enough for you to effectively and efficiently manage projects using an Agile methodology.
Agile methodology is based on a philosophy of project leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and self-organization. The Agile conceptual framework promotes iterative development and releases, short stints, frequent checks, and adaptability.
Scrum is a process of implementing Agile in structured development sprints.
Agilito, built on Django, was developed and made available to manage projects using the Agile/Scrum method, while avoiding the cost-prohibitive and cumbersome features of available commercial software. Access it here.
